What is an Ijazah?
An Ijazah (إجازة) is a formal scholarly licence certifying that a student has mastered the recitation of the Quran with correct Tajweed — directly from a qualified teacher whose chain of transmission is unbroken all the way back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
